Accessibility Statement
Short version: We are committed to making our website accessible to everyone. We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance and actively work to identify and fix accessibility barriers.
1. Our Commitment
BlazeDev is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to ensure we provide equal access and opportunity.
We believe the web should be usable by everyone, regardless of ability or technology. This commitment extends to our own website, our internal tools, and the products we build for our clients.
2. Conformance Target
We aim for our website to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to a wide range of people with disabilities, including:
- Visual impairments (blindness, low vision, colour blindness)
- Hearing impairments
- Motor impairments
- Cognitive and neurological impairments
3. Measures Taken
We have taken the following measures to support accessibility on our website:
- Semantic HTML - we use proper heading hierarchies, landmark regions, and native HTML elements to ensure screen reader compatibility.
- Keyboard navigation - all interactive elements are accessible via keyboard navigation without requiring a mouse.
- ARIA attributes - we use WAI-ARIA roles and properties where native HTML semantics are insufficient.
- Colour contrast - we maintain a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text, in line with WCAG AA requirements.
- Focus indicators - visible focus indicators are provided for keyboard users to identify their current position on the page.
- Alt text - all meaningful images include descriptive alternative text. Decorative images are marked as presentational.
- Responsive design - our website is designed to work across a range of devices, screen sizes, and orientations.
- Reduced motion - we respect the
prefers-reduced-motionmedia query and reduce or disable animations for users who have enabled this setting.
4. Known Limitations
Despite our best efforts, some parts of our website may not be fully accessible:
- Third-party content - some embedded third-party services (e.g., Cal.com scheduling widget) may have their own accessibility limitations that are outside our direct control. We actively work with our providers to improve accessibility.
- Complex animations - certain WebGL-based visual effects may not be fully perceivable by all users. These are purely decorative and do not contain essential information.
- PDF documents - older PDF documents may not be fully accessible. We are working to remediate these as they are identified.
5. Feedback
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of our website. If you encounter any accessibility barriers or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us:
- Email: blazedev.build@gmail.com
- Subject line: Accessibility Feedback
We will acknowledge your feedback within 5 business days and work to address reported issues as promptly as possible. Where an immediate fix is not feasible, we will provide an estimated timeline and, where possible, an accessible alternative.
6. Enforcement
If you are not satisfied with our response to your accessibility feedback, you may escalate the matter to your local equality or human rights authority. In the UK, you can contact the Equality Advisory Support Service (EASS).
7. Assessment
This statement was last reviewed on the date shown above. Accessibility of our website is assessed through a combination of:
- Automated testing tools (axe, Lighthouse)
- Manual keyboard and screen reader testing
- Ongoing code review with accessibility checks
We aim to review and update this accessibility statement at least annually, or whenever significant changes are made to the website.
